• Account data: your email address and password (stored securely as a hash) when you create an account.
• Profile data: your display name if you choose to add one.
• User content: recipes, ingredient prices, shopping lists, and favorite lists you create.
• Promo codes: codes you submit to unlock premium access.

Information collected automatically

• Usage data: which pages you visit and features you use, used to improve the Service.
• Technical data: browser type and device information needed to deliver and secure the Service.

3. Payment Information

Payment processing is handled by Stripe, our third-party payment processor. We never see or store your full card number, CVV, or other sensitive payment details. Stripe provides us with limited information — such as card brand and last four digits — so we can display your billing information. Stripe's handling of your payment data is governed by their own privacy policy and PCI-DSS compliance standards.

• Supabase — hosts our database and authentication system.
• Stripe — processes subscription payments and manages billing.
• Hosting provider — serves the website and edge functions.

We may disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights, safety, or the safety of others.

6. Data Retention

We retain your account information and user content for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will remove your personal data from our active systems. Some information may remain in backups for a limited time before it is permanently deleted.

7. Your Rights

• Access & update: you can view and edit your profile information from your account page.
• Export: you can view and copy your saved recipes and prices at any time.
• Delete: you can delete your saved content. To delete your entire account, contact us.
• Unsubscribe: you can cancel your subscription at any time through the billing portal.

8. Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your data, including encrypted password storage, row-level database access controls, and secure session management. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Children's Privacy

SweetScale is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can remove it.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this page periodically to stay informed about how we handle your information.
